The Good Parts...

My wife and I have visited Man-O-War Cay more than a half-dozen times in the past  25 years, staying with friends on our previous visits.  This was our first stay at Sea Glass Found.   Man-O-War is a beautiful island with friendly inhabitants and a unique, rustic charm.  We highly recommend it.  The beaches and the water in the Abocos are the most beautiful in the world from our perspective.

The fact that we have spent so much time on Man-O-War in the past, and are well aware of its rustic nature, adds credibility to the fact that what we experienced at Sea Glass Found is NOT based on an expectation of Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton luxury.  While Man-O-War is clean and friendly and one of our most favorite places in the world, it is not a place where one goes for a luxury experience.

And this said, once we came to grips with the issues we had to deal with we had an excellent time.  Indeed it was a memorable trip for our family.

The best things about Sea Glass Found include the following:

  1. Once we arrived and got settled in, Colin Albury was spot-on with his responsiveness, friendliness, approachability, visibility, and general service levels.  The word “no” simply did not exist in his vocabulary.  Our grandkids in particular enjoyed him and were marveled by the things he was able to do.  Simply put, Colin was a pleasure to have around.

  2. We made use of only one of the two available boats during the week (we are not that big of boaters and our needs/asks were simple).  The boat we used was always clean, well-stocked with water and beer, and it ran beautifully along the water.  Colin was an excellent captain and most definitely kept us safe.  He worked well with our grandkids when it came to fishing.  Colin also had good suggestions for things to do (we included him in our meals and activities while we were out).  Our kids and grandkids in particular loved being on the boat.  It was  a definite highlight of the trip.

  3. The general condition of the Harbor House, Little White House, and Lodge House were what we have come to expect from Man-O-War during our 25 years staying on the island.  For the most part all three houses were clean and well-maintained.

  4. The infinity pool was well maintained and our grandkids loved it.

  5. There were ample supplies of toilet paper and paper towels.

  6. The beaches and grounds were also, with few exceptions, beautiful and well maintained.
