In the end...

I shared what was going on during our trip in real-time with Stan Ingram, as things unfolded.  We agreed to speak after the trip was over, because there were simply so many things that went wrong.  I had multiple conversations with Stan following our trip, including sharing the comments and photos included in this website.  I felt a refund was due, and asked for a refund of approximately 15% of the total $72,000 paid for our eight-day stay (the request was supported by objective math and I made it a point to let certain things pass, so as to not "pile on").  After repeatedly chasing after Stan to discuss this, I was informed that the only compensation I would receive was not being billed a total of $1,430 for groceries and gas used for the boat.  Stan and the owner have denied any additional compensation. (Stan has mentioned a discount on a future stay, but has yet to provide any details or documentation about that.  I do not believe it is good business to make up for a current sub-standard experience with a future promise.  Anyone who has been around the block has already made that mistake.)

My hope is that Stan and the owner are able to make the needed repairs and upgrades to bring the property up to a level commensurate with the prices they are charging.  In the meantime, if you are considering a stay at Sea Glass Found, you are now armed with the truth regarding what it is really like and can judge for yourself whether the price being charged is worth it.
